Silvia L. Rodriguez recently acquired www.bounceandblush.com a modern bounce house party rental service proudly serving Rocklin, Roseville, Sacramento, Elk Grove and its surrounding areas. At @bounceandblush, the motto is “creating magic where all your jumping dreams come to life.” This was inspired by the Orozco family-Silvia’s son and his wife who are raising two amazing granddaughters. As they put it, “We didn’t realize we were making memories; we just knew we were having fun.”
This acquisition comes at the tails of Silvia’s long-standing career as an advocate, mission-driven public servant and practitioner of public policy and administration with a business acumen. Her career spans almost three decades in the social, juvenile/criminal justice and health and human services sphere, particularly in behavioral health. This includes analyzing, researching, designing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and administering state and federal programs in non-profit organizations, city, county, and state governments. Her career started as a direct service provider working with non-profit organizations that received public (state/federal) funds to provide services in the areas of drug and alcohol education and treatment, crisis counseling and intervention, school-based counseling, prevention and early intervention for at-risk youth.
Resident of Elk Grove for 25 years, Silvia is an immigrant from Guatemala. Once labeled an “at risk” youth, she now holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration (MPPA) and a master’s in business administration (MBA) from the California State University, Sacramento. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Pitzer College. Her lived experience navigating inequitable systems, sparked her passion for public service and advocacy. She describes her leadership style as a mission driven servant leader and its applicability is closely associated with the principles of collaborative policymaking and governance; trauma informed, and participatory action research. She has received numerous recognitions, including the Exceptional Woman of Color 2024 by Sac Cultural Hub Media Foundation. She was featured in the Fall 2024 Issue of the Hub Magazine.
She is currently the Health Equity Special Projects Manager, Department of Public Health. Previously, she administered the award-winning California Reducing Disparities Project – one-of-a-hand nationwide. The CRDP received the American Society for Public Administration’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion award May 2024. She is also a volunteer Facilitator for the World Academy for the Future of Women (WAFW), delivering a leadership curriculum to develop and empower young women worldwide. She has been invited to be part of the WAFW delegation to the United Nation’s Commission on Women March 2025.
Her mission-driven leadership extends to civic involvement, which include: Former, Board Member, Sacramento County Mental Health Board and Chair of the Children’s Systems of Care; Chair of Sacramento First5 Advisory Committee; Former, Liaison, Sacramento County Drug and Alcohol Board; Former, Member, Mental Health America-California Policy Committee; Executive Board Member, American Society for Public Administration, Sacramento; Vice President/President Elect Policy and Politics CSUS Alumni Chapter.
Her lifetime joy is to be a mother to Fabian and Amy and grandmother to Sophia, Jojo, Layla, and Emma. She is “GG” for all the grandchildren.
