In the dynamic landscape of local commerce, initiatives often emerge from a spark of insight coupled with a passion for community empowerment. This journey of innovation and collaboration found its manifestation in Capitol Business Connection, a conduit for growth and connectivity in the heart of our Capitol region.

Origins and Evolution:

As an ambassador of a local chamber and a participant in a now-defunct business group, I discerned a gap between innovative ideas and their implementation within the small business and entrepreneurial sphere. Fueled by a desire to catalyze change, I founded Capitol Business Connection in 2011, infusing it with the very concepts that had struggled to gain traction elsewhere.

Over the ensuing decade, our journey witnessed various transformations and diversification, yet the core ethos remained unwavering. Amidst these changes, the vision of Capitol Business Connection endured, poised for a renaissance.

A New Chapter:

In 2023, serendipity intervened as I crossed paths with Daron Whitely at a networking mixer. Our encounter proved to be transformative, as Daron embraced the vision of Capitol Business Connection with zeal, assuming the role of our Referral Network President.

Mission and Methodology:

Capitol Business Connection embodies a hybrid model, blending the strengths of a chamber of commerce with the dynamics of business referral groups. At our core lies a commitment to empowering individuals with invaluable connections, referrals, and growth opportunities.

Central to our ethos is the belief that collaboration catalyzes success. With ten dedicated members and seven visionary board members, we convene for themed mixers on the third Thursdays of each month. These gatherings serve as crucibles of creativity and collaboration, fostering an environment where ideas flourish and partnerships thrive.

Themed Mixers:

Our themed mixers serve as vibrant canvases, celebrating the diverse tapestry of our community. Whether it’s a Hawaiian-themed soirĂ©e honoring our travel industry member or a Surfaris-themed gathering featuring insights from the Sacramento Zoo Relocation Committee, each event is infused with a spirit of camaraderie and purpose.

Community Engagement:

Beyond fostering business connections, Capitol Business Connection remains deeply committed to community engagement. A testament to this commitment was our special mixer in support of Mending of Mothers, a local organization dedicated to supporting houseless mothers and their children. Together, we assembled care packets, embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity.

Looking Ahead:

As we embark on this journey of growth and expansion, Capitol Business Connection invites small business owners and entrepreneurs to join us. Whether through attending our local mixers or exploring membership opportunities, we extend a warm invitation to all who seek to thrive in the Capitol region.

In the tapestry of our community, Capitol Business Connection is not merely a thread but a vibrant mosaic, weaving together opportunities and aspirations. Together, let us shape a future where collaboration meets success, where every connection is a catalyst for transformation.

Join us, and let’s embark on this transformative journey together.
